I Was Really Nervous
I was really nervous to be in front of everyone in the class and play an improvisation. However, once I started playing, I became really engrossed in the music. I let the music surround me and I went along with it. Everything seemed to fall away when I was playing except the music. It brought me a sense of peace and took me to a place I have never experienced before. For the first time in my life, I understood what it must feel like to be a real musician and be completely in love with music.
I Thought, But Was Surprised
I thought this seminar was going to be long, boring, and tedious because many participants have so much less musical experience than I do. However, the class surprised me and I really enjoyed it. I am going to miss the fun. Jeffrey, thank you for being an awesome teacher and making The Total Musician Seminar. It will be a seminar that I remember for a long time.
Somewhat Reserved And Hesitant
I am a somewhat reserved, hesitant person by nature, and I usually don't feel comfortable in seminar presentations. However, the environment of this particular seminar is one that allows me to feel more comfortable and natural than I normally feel. It has made me feel more comfortable speaking, performing, and presenting in front of other people.
A Great Seminar!
The Total Musician Seminar is a great seminar! I was able to rediscover and maintain my musicality as a musician and as a person. It has helped me to take the first step in realizing that music is a part of me and that I should truly cherish it.
Surprised With My Work
Today we wrote some music and I have to say that I was very surprised with my work. For some unknown reason I am doing quite well with all of this composing. With this new look on music I have gained a larger appreciation for people who compose music for a living.
The Perfect Seminar
Today's session was amazing for me. I had no idea what to expect coming into it, yet once I heard Jeffrey start speaking I knew that it was the perfect seminar for me. I was expecting someone who was set on his style of music and not open to other forms, especially not hard rock and forms like it. When I started taking to Jeffrey and realized how much we had in common, it made the stress of life ease.
Better And Better
This seminar gets better and better each day.
My Favorite Thing
I think my favorite thing about the seminar is the relaxed atmosphere and the way people are comfortable enough to ask both serious and amusing questions.
Different From Any Other Seminar
Today was different from any other music seminar that I have ever taken. I usually don't enjoy music classes, because they are mostly theoretical and historical. I was expecting another of these "blah-blah-blah" lessons. Anyway, I felt this seminar was completely opposite. Jeffrey interacted with us and shared his experiences in music. He explained new terms in a very simple way. I felt comfortable with my peers and confident with this seminar in general. When Jeffrey played a piece of music for us, I felt like closing my eyes and traveling to those landscapes where the waterfalls and rainbow find each other.
Everyone's A Musician
Everyone is a musician. I know it's a broad statement, but it works. Even those who had never touched a piano played well, even through their embarrassment. With this class, I have a new respect for musicians, including myself.
Volunteers Improvise
Jeffrey had volunteers take turns joining him at the piano to improvise music. The music they made together was hauntingly beautiful.
Singing Together
We did an exercise singing together that really made the group come alive. Even though not all of us are singers, we still sounded good and that's the magic of it all. Music really does transcend all people, it's like it's already in every single one of us; we just need a way to coax it out.
A Musical Family
Even though I come from a musical family, I am not in tune with whatever talent or ability I might have. And having the chance to express it and even learn about it helped crack that barrier a bit. This seminar of musical awareness has really helped enrich my life.
A Whole New World
This class has opened up a whole new world for me. This is going to reinvigorate and further my love of music.
A Bit Nervous
When I heard that we were going to be composing, I was a bit nervous, but the exercise was not difficult and it was amazing to hear the final result.
Grow In Musicality
Once the class started, I realized that the class was not intended to be a purely academic approach to music. Rather, it is a seminar where we draw from the experience of others to learn and grow in our own musicality.
Inexplicably Beautiful
The improvisations performed by the students were inexplicably beautiful. This has taught me that some of the most beautiful things are unplanned.
My Favorite Seminar
This is my favorite music seminar because it is teaching me the most about myself. I'm seeing things I've never seen and doing things I've never done before. This is the first time I've ever composed anything and I love it.
Really Enjoyed This Seminar
This class is like a new beginning to just make music in a way that is my own. It's my music. I get to be creative in a musical sense and not worry about what others think. I really enjoyed this seminar.
